NOHRC 2013 has teamed up with the charity Shoes and Clothes for Kids (SC4K). We are asking attendees to bring in unused socks and underwear items, that are in their original package, to the conference. If you bring in an item, you can receive 1 ticket towards the Chinese raffle! The more items you bring in, the more tickets you will receive!
We will also have a 50/50 raffle to help support SC4K. Last year, the 50/50 raffle raised over $500, so you’ll want to be sure to bring cash with you on the day of the conference to participate in a great cause!
Are you planning on bringing socks and underwear for SC4K’s? Or would you prefer to donate money either directly to SC4K’s or with the 50/50 raffle?
NOHRC 2013 is changing it up again by introducing The Network Frenzy, a fun way to meet, interact and talk with exhibitors and fellow registrants at the conference. The Network Frenzy allows registrants to collect raffle tickets from each vendor in the exhibit hall. The more vendors you talk to, the more raffle tickets you will get for the Chinese Raffle. The Chinese Raffle gives you the opportunity to win one of our many Grand Prizes HERE.
With so many great prizes and a fun new way to network – what games and giveaways are you looking forward to most?

Networking is an important aspect of a successful conference! Ever use the elevator pitch as a networking tool? What a great method to quickly share best practices, information about your company, new product ideas, or to even advance one’s career. The term, “elevator pitch” was developed from the conversation that could occur during the time when one is riding up a few floors in the elevator. Being concise is key as the elevator ride could last as little as 30 seconds or as long as a minute or two! The Northern Ohio HR Conference provides many opportunities to use this networking tool. If the pitch made in those few seconds is interesting and value adding, the conversation could result in new business or a meeting to talk further.
In addition to a prepared elevator speech – what topics do you bring to a networking session or conference to discuss?
Any great stories to share about a successful elevator pitch? What came of that successful discussion?
