  • On Friday we have Jon Petz, a thought leader in Talent Development, as our opening Keynote. Jon’s presentation is titled – “Significance In Simple Moments. Achieving HR Significance”. 
  • And, don’t miss our luncheon Keynote Speaker – Mark Murphy. Mark will present “Truth at Work: The Science of Delivering Tough Messages.”

Are you a Subject Matter Expert and would like to share your secrets to success? Or do you have best practices to share with HR professionals from across North East Ohio?

The Cleveland Society for Human Resource Management invites you to submit an online speaker presentation proposal that outlines your experience and expertise that could be shared with over 650 plus Human Resource Professionals. The Northern Ohio Human Resource Conference (NOHRC) is scheduled for March 21-22, 2019 at the Cleveland Convention Center in Downtown Cleveland, Ohio.

What are we looking for?

Your proposal should outline your learning objectives that can be used in:

  • Practical application sessions for attendees;
  • Current human resource issues;
  • Research findings;
  • Case studies;
  • Future trends in human resource management/development;
  • Employee/management programs;
  • Techniques or processes;
  • Social media;
  • Organizational development; and/or,
  • Employment law.

Help NOHRC support Seeds of Literacy!

We are excited to help fundraise this year for Seeds of Literacy, a non-profit organization that provides free basic education to adults in the Cleveland area. For $400, one student can receive a full year of education. We are aiming to raise $2500 for the organization at NOHRC 2017! With your donation of $25 or more, you will be entered in a raffle to win a Vitamix! Details on how you can donate will be provided at the conference. We hope you will be able to help us reach (or surpass) our goal to help adults in Cleveland receive the education services they need!

Steve Browne is the Executive Director of Human Resources for LaRosa’s, Inc. – a regional Pizzeria restaurant chain in Southwest Ohio with 16 locations and over 1,200 Team Members. Steve has been an HR professional for 30 years and has worked in the Manufacturing, Consumer Products, and Professional Services industries in various HR roles. He is currently a member of the SHRM Board of Directors and has been a member of the Membership Advisory Council (MAC) representative for the North Central Region of SHRM and Past Ohio State Council Director. He facilitates a monthly HR Roundtable as well as an HR internet forum called the HR Net which reaches over 8,200 people globally each week. At NOHRC, he will present on defining your team’s HR brand. He will focus on these four main learning objectives:

1. Transitioning from “Soft Skills” to “Relevant Skills” – The first step in establishing the HR Brand is to position ourselves in a new way where we show the business skills we bring to our role and the organization.

2. Developing and Defining Your HR Brand – This will look at how HR is currently viewed by Sr. Management in attendees organizations and then see how/why it should shift to a Branded position.

3. Making Your Brand Come to Life – These are takeaways that attendees will create during the workshop on setting the steps of making their brand move from design to action.

4. Integrating your Brand with the Company Brand – Attendees will learn how they can make the HR/Employment Brand support and promote the overall brand of their organization.

Rick Lozano will kick off the day at NOHRC 2017 as the morning keynote speaker!

As a thought leader in talent development, Rick has presented at multiple international conferences and organizations as diverse as Washington Trust Bank, Roche Diagnostics, and James Madison University.
